Jen Thorne

In addition to being a board member, Jen spends her time as an educator and coach. Jen has volunteered on helplines since she was in college, where she assisted callers with basic short-term counseling needs, suicide ideation, basic needs, alcoholism and drug addiction. Jen also instructed a course for youthful offenders. She hopes to put her experience and knowledge to good use as the volunteer coordinator. While serving as a board member, Jen would like to help motivate, recognize, encourage, and unify TCW volunteers. She encourages anyone interested in volunteering to contact her!

Jen lives in Raleigh, where she spends her "spare" time outdoors with her dog, reading, writing, drinking coffee, or listening to Melissa Ferrick. She also likes to get angry and write letters to politicians and newspapers. Jen has been an active Feminist since she was in High School. She has also been a captain of a Relay for Life team for 5 years in effort to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
