HelpLine Volunteer

We are always looking for volunteers to staff the Gay & Lesbian Helpline, which is in operation Sunday through Thursday evenings, from 6:30PM -- 9:30PM. The Gay and Lesbian Helpline serves the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities of the Triangle, providing non-judgmental peer counseling services, education, information, resource referrals, and documentation of bias crimes over the telephone.

This opportunity requires a commitment to volunteer for at least one year, staffing the Helpline at least one shift a month. Also, it requires attending a two-day training session, typically one Saturday from 9AM - 5PM, and a Sunday from 1PM - 5PM.
