The Gay and Lesbian
Helpline serves the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities
of the Triangle, providing non-judgmental peer counseling services,
education, information, resource referrals, and documentation of
bias crimes over the telephone. The Helpline was started in 1991
and has taken over 5000 calls since its inception.
The Helpline is staffed Sunday through Thursday
from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Call the Helpline at:

Volunteer with the Helpline! If you are interested in becoming a telephone volunteer with
the Helpline, we have training sessions planned for the weekend
of january 18-19, 2008. Volunteers are asked to work one shift a
month at the Helpline. If you're interested in volunteering and
would like more information, call 821-0055 and leave a message,
or complete the form on the TCW
Volunteer Information page. A volunteer will call you to discuss
the training and answer any questions you might have.

Training dates for the Gay and Lesbian Helpline
have been set for 2008! If you've wanted to be involved in the Helpline's

A trainer will contact you to give you more information.
The Friday night session runs from 6:30-9:00pm
and training concludes on Saturday from 9am-4:30pm.
