The trick is to make your game night sound so fun that nobody will even think about the fact that they are attending a charity event. Not focusing on the fun is one of the big reasons that many charity event ideas ultimately fail.

Also, make sure that the game night has a fixed donation in place. This can either mean that a 'donation' is required for entry into the event or that the event is free but there is a suggested donation price for participation. Game nights can be as simple or as elaborate as funds allow. In fact, it’s even possible to host a game night for free by gathering board games from donors or members of the sponsoring organization and then inviting people in to play for a fixed donation. These events can also be themed; casino and video game themes are quite popular now.
